Texas Persimmon (Diospyros texana, Mexican Persimmon, Chapote ) is a very common shrub or tree here in South Texas. It’s important to know what edible food is around you. Educate yourselves on what’s available in your area, and bon appetite!

I don't know about olives, but peaches do really good. I might have to look in to olives though. Thanks for watching.

  2. Nice. Being from TX, I guess I never thought about it until now, but I wonder if you could grow olives in the TX Hill Country? Looks kinda like a Mediterranean climate when I was out there.
